So this is a little late coming; we're about 16 weeks along now (or will be on Thursday). But here's a picture of our little peanut. Who now has arms and legs and fingers! He/she even appears to be sucking his/her thumb in the pictures :) Look!

Isn't that so cool!? Anyway, it really looks like a little fist to the little mouth in the picture, but I could be wrong. The only reason we needed a sonogram was because the nurses couldn't find the heartbeat (which was a little nerve-racking) and so my doctor wanted to check it out and make sure everything was ok. Turned out the little bugger was wiggling around to much for the nurses to find the heartbeat with the Doppler thing. That was really cool to see. It's funny to think that the little guy/gal moves around so much and I still can't feel it yet. That's something I'm excited for.
So yes. On Thursday we'll be 16 weeks along. Which means that this picture is dated by about three weeks. Which ALSO means we get to find out whether we're having a boy or girl in about a month :D
:D :D :D
As far as normal pregnancy stuff, I've been feeling fine. It's getting harder to sleep at night, and although I'm not showing very much (just a little bump), I'm starting to appreciate sleeping with a pillow under my stomach when I'm on my side. Soooo much more comfortable. And today when I was greedily taking in the smell of fresh-baked brownies at work, I realized that what I was really smelling was freshly-cut wood. That was kind of weird. I guess we know what's on my mind :)
Running has also taken on some new dimensions. I only go about two miles, but holy moley does my bladder take a beating. It's like I swallowed a brick and with every step it squishes my bladder. With vehement. So that's been something to get used to :)
But all in all, I've had it extremely easy unpleasant-symptom wise. That is something I am definitely very grateful for. Especially after talking to a friend at church who said she threw up every three days in her first trimester. Good gracious. I've only felt nauseous a handful of times, and haven't thrown up once.
Anyway. More as it comes :)

Oh you guys! I'm just so happy for you! And holy moly the awesomeness of not being sick! My mom and my sisters all had nasty morning sickness - I am seriously hoping that doesn't happen to me when I get pregnant. And I want to hear the story! - Did you guys plan for it, or was it a great surprise, how did you tell Chad, your parents, etc.... Ahh! So so happy for you two :)
ReplyDeleteThanks!! I know; I am soooo glad I didn't have to deal with being sick all the time. But it's different for everyone, and changes in your own pregnancies too. So good luck! :) And will do; I'll eventually put up all that cute stuff on here sooner or later :)
