Alpine Loop and new Emmett pictures

8.20.2012

Yesterday we went driving on the Alpine Loop. If you're around here and you have the opportunity, go. It is soooo pretty. We drove it on a geology field trip once, and I'd been dying to go again. So Chad surprised me and Emmett yesterday with an afternoon drive. I didn't really get many pictures, because I was too busy looking around, plus I wouldn't have done the place justice. Plus it's been really smoky lately and distance pictures won't turn out great anyway.

And here is a ridiculously cute video of Chad and Emmett.

And here's another video of Emmett walking. We took this the other day, and he's already better than he was in this video. He doesn't fall so often and he walks most of the time now instead of crawling.

And since we're on the subject of Emmett, here are a few new pictures :)

Check out that hair!

I think he was starting to fuss in this one, hence the funny face.
And that's it for now. Have a great Monday!

Family Time

My sister and her family came to Utah for a visit! I can't even tell you how good it was to see them. My last visit to see family was when Emmett was about five months old, so family visits are kind of few and far between for us. We're trying to get down there again soon, but we'll see.

Anyway, it was really great to see them :)

Sarah taking advantage of Emmett being asleep; she loved everything that was his, including his sippie cup and bink.
So yeah. Would you believe me if I said I cried lots when they left? Just ask Chad. It was a little ridiculous. :)

Walking

8.13.2012

So Emmett's basically a pro now :) He's much better than he was even in this video. He's been walking from the couch to the tv, couch to front door, kitchen to living room... all over. He's getting so good. It all changed when we started cheering like crazy every time he tried. Now when he walks, he'll look at us expectantly and wait for the clapping :D My favorite is when he smiles and grins like crazy when he's walking to me; he looks so proud of himself and so happy.

Anyway, this video is from a few days ago.

(Did you notice his little farmer's tan?)

Yesterday at church he was trying to keep up with this other baby who's about a month ahead of Emmett and a really fast walker. Emmett kept getting frustrated cause the kid kept running off. I think Emmett was kind of intimidating him... He's way bigger and louder, and he growls and flaps his arms when he's excited. Basically it's adorable, but I can see how it would be a little off-putting to someone much smaller than you. He just needs some friends who are as enthusiastic about life as he is :)

Have a great Monday everyone!

PS. If you need more smiles, check out this little boy dancing. Hilarious. I hope Emmett has sweet dance moves like these hiding inside.

Bridal Veil Falls in 50+ pictures

8.08.2012

(I'm not kidding. I think there're like 52.)

So we went up to Bridal Veil Falls when Chad's family came up for a reunion last month! It was good to see everyone again.

Bridal Veil Falls

I'll have to get the one with Chad's Mom in it from her camera; don't have one on mine :(

Gma Mc and Emmett are pals :)

And he loved Gma Mc's cane. He was always trying to pilfer it from her :)

Can you see Chad way at the top?
