Emmett's First Birthday

I can't believe my baby's already a year old!!! How crazy is that?! And wonderful :) It's been a great year, and we had fun celebrating it with our baby boy :)

Chad's family came down to drop off Devery for school and brought a few presents for him so we got to open those with everyone, which was nice.

My parents sent Emmett's birthday loot with my sister when she came up and we let him have lots of it when they came, so we don't have pictures of those... sorry Mom and Dad! But he loves his beanie babies and his Harry Otter shirt, and he really loves his bus :) We have a video of him opening that that I'll put up soon :)

We did Emmett's cake and gifts from us the day after his birthday (Chad's day off) so Chad could be there.

And the cake pictures! He didn't actually eat any of it, which was kind of a letdown. We were so excited to set him loose! But something about the texture put him off and he wouldn't have any of it. So he played with it instead, which was just fine :)

So I messed up here. Those two pictures above were Emmett opening the bus from Gma and Gpa Johnson, but I started a video in the middle, so we don't have any actual pictures of him opening the bus and the dump truck we gave him... d'oh! Genius, right? Oh well. 

But here's that video anyway. It's a little long so I won't have my feelings hurt if you don't finish it. And I won't even know! So there. Watch what you will.

So we had a great time. And Great Grandma McClellan and Chad's parents went in together to get us this gem:

Emmett may or may not be kissing the backpack in this picture. We've already put it to great use and went up Rock Canyon last weekend. It's a great backpack and we're so excited to be able to go hiking again!!
