January so far

1.24.2013

I totally left that part out of the last post, huh? Whoops. January so far = nastiest winter I've seen in Utah. Or seen ever. For the last while we've had highs in the low to mid teens and lows in the well-established negatives. BUT! If the forecast is right (and it frequently isn't--Utah must be a hard place to be a weatherman) we might be getting back to normal in the next couple of weeks! It was already 25 when I got up this morning and we're supposed to hit 32 today!! And even higher over the next couple of days!! Yesterday we were in SLC and it was cooooold up there. That morning, we saw a guy riding a bike--which I thought was kind of admirable in a you're-a-lunatic kind of way--but he was wearing a balaclava and there was ice stuck all over the mouth and nose of it from the condensation in his breath. Crazy.

Anyway, hopefully we'll get back on track with normal temperatures and no more inversions. Seriously scary air lately.

And now for your viewing pleasure, a couple of Emmett videos. They're both probably longer than they need to be, but I get distracted (because I for one think he's hilarious) and end up with five minutes of Emmett being Emmett.

Warning: video number two starts with a loud vacuum. And ends with it, too. Just be aware.

We start 'em young 'round here.

He's so fun. I can hardly believe he's almost two. Gosh.

So pregnancy's going well. I actually feel pretty good for having just started the third trimester. Can you believe it?! This little boy'll be here in less than three months!! Oh my word. That's wonderful and scary at the same time. But mostly wonderful :) I am SO glad I'm not going to be pregnant all spring and summer. That was a kind of a bummer the first time. But yay for not being huge and sweaty this time around! Or at least the sweaty part.

We need a name for this boy. I thought I had one picked, then I woke up the next day and decided I didn't like it as much. I keep doing that. So. Any suggestions? We've gone through a bunch, nixed a bunch, unnixed a bunch of those, thought of completely random ones, and started all over again. I don't remember it being this hard with Emmett.

This little guy's getting strong. He moves around more and more, which is way fun, and I've started having a lot more BH contractions lately. They started at around 18 weeks with Emmett, but with this boy I haven't had too many.

Anyway, enough of my rambling. But big news before I go: Chad was accepted to the U of U for a second bachelor's in Civil Engineering! Whoop!! He's still looking at other applications, but if we decide on this one, class starts on May 13, which means we're out of here about a month after the baby's born! I think we're both definitely ready to leave Provo. It's been good, but it's definitely time to move on. And Chad is ridiculously excited to go back to school. I'm so happy for him!

Have a good Thursday!

PS. A few more Emmett pictures (excuse the blurriness of some):

Sitting at his little fold-down chair like a desk

Sick day, watching Planet Earth

Modeling the hat I made for a niece, which turned out way too small, so it's going to my visiting teacher's little girl. Sorry niece!

:D

Christmas pictures and January so far

1.05.2013

Hi friends! How was your Christmas? Ours was pretty great. Nice and low key. We slept in ( = Chad got up early while Emmett and I slept in), Chad made us breakfast, and we opened presents. Emmett got a lot more out of this Christmas than his first. He got a pretty good haul too ;)

(As per usual, there are about a million pictures of Emmett, and a few of us. Chad and I didn't document each other as well as we did Emmett. Whoops.)

Early morning, wonky-eyed goodness

Opening the neat little chair Chad's dad made. He also made me a gorgeous little jewelry box! Which I haven't photo-ed yet. But it's beautiful :)

after presents :)
I made this cute little guy for Emmett but I didn't start it until the night before Christmas, so it wasn't ready til the day after Christmas. Oh well :)

Thanks Jones and Johnson parents and Grandma Mc for wonderful presents! Y'all definitely helped to make it a wonderful day :)

Have a good Sunday!
